Periodontitis Disease

Something about Periodontitis :-

Periodontitis
means ,
perio = around, dont = tooth, -itis = inflammation.

Gingivitis (early gum disease), which left untreated progress to periodontitis.

According to the Association of periodontists, an estimated 35 percent of the population aged 30 and above have periodontitis, but a lot of people do not even know them.

Gum disease is often silent, meaning that symptoms may not appear until an advanced stage of the disease.

Periodontal disease may be silent but can be fatal, but there are more serious, than the health effects of early loss of teeth heard before. It has now shown that bacteria from the dental gum disease can travel to other parts of the body and cause serious health problems, such as:

Heart disease :-
The researchers found that people with periodontal disease, almost twice as likely to suffer from coronary artery disease as those who do not have periodontal disease. Research shows that periodontal disease may promote the development of clogged arteries and blood clots, the oral bacteria enter the blood stream. Periodontal disease has been well known and aggravate existing heart conditions.

Stroke :-
Further research indicates that the relationship between periodontal disease and stroke. These studies reported that anti-inflammatory effect, from gum disease may lead to a by-product of oral bacteria into the blood and trigger the liver, the protein fuel artery. These effects may lead to blood clots, stroke lead to artery blockage.

Respiratory tract infections :-
Bacterial respiratory infection that was adopted by the common desire of (inhaled) fine droplets from the mouth and throat into the lungs. These droplets containing the bacteria can breed and breed and the lungs and cause pneumonia and lung injury.

Breathing periodontal bacteria, in particular, pose a threat to the people who are serious chronic respiratory conditions, known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Periodontal bacteria can increase the frequency of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease onset of the infection.

Diabetes :-
Diabetes has been known to increase the risk of infection, including severe gum disease.

In 1999 a study done by the recommendations of the relationship between periodontal disease and diabetes is a real vicious cycle - periodontal disease may make it more difficult to differentiate between people who has diabetes, blood glucose control.

Serious periodontal disease can increase blood sugar, help to increase the period of time, physical function and high blood sugar. This makes diabetes increased risk of diabetes complications.

Infertility treatment failure :-
The relationship between periodontal disease, infertility treatment and reproductive success, it seems also to have both the two.

The researchers found that women’s ovulation induction of infertility treatment more than three cycles of experience, the higher gingival inflammation, bleeding and GCF (GCF). These effects are linked to the level of increased estrogen and progesterone hormones.

Not only can the reasons for the treatment of periodontal disease, several studies provide evidence that the presence of gum infection is unsuccessful embryo development and implantation failure, in vitro fertilization patients.

On a hopeful note that if the plaque is removed first, and then maintained at a low level, in infertility treatment, gingival inflammation would be reduced, may affect the success. Critical oral hygiene and regular professional cleanings, may be the beginning of each cycle will be necessary to ensure that the health of the gums during the treatment.

Premature infants :-
All infected pregnant women are of concern, because they posed a threat to the health of babies. The study also shows that pregnant women who periodontal disease may be seven times more likely to have a baby is born too early too little.

More research is needed to confirm how periodontal disease, may affect the terms of pregnancy.

It appears that the trigger level of periodontal disease increased by biological fluids induced labor. In addition, the data show that women, their periodontal condition deteriorated during pregnancy have a higher risk, or even a premature baby.
